The Communication Technology (CTEC) Division is an academic group within the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) academic and professional society.

Within this organization, I served as the webmaster, web designer, and social media coordinator for three years. In this role, I was responsible for building and designing the CTEC website and managing content. I was also responsible for generating content and engagement through the CTEC social media platforms, Twitter and Facebook.

CTEC Leadership

I joined the leadership track of the division serving first as the Mid-winter conference chair, responsible for planning and implementing the mid-winter conference, a smaller sub-set to the national AEJMC annual conference.

The next year, I served as the Research Chair, responsible for managing research submissions to CTEC for the annual conference. The third year, I served as the Division Vice Head, responsible for overseeing the division’s contribution to the annual conference, to include programming, inter-division collaboration, and conference scheduling.

Lastly, I served as the Division Head, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the division, to include financial oversight, serving as liaison between the division and AEJMC leadership, and ensuring all division responsibilities were completed on time and within budget, among other duties.
