Short for “Discovering Technology”, a DiscoTech is a multimedia workshop and fair for people of all skill levels to learn and share information about technology.
This event was modeled after the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition’s DiscoTech, and came to fruition through a collaboration with MIT and my involvement in the Boston Civic Media Consortium.
For this event Salem residents of all ages were invited to learn about technology and engage in interactive media-based workshops. The event included keynote speakers and a two-hour block of hosted work stations on different technology topics, to include tech like Story Corps, graphic design, multimedia production, and citizen journalism.
